Basic rules of Five Card Draw
Basic poker rules for Five Card Draw. It is played up to six players. Each players is dealt 5 cards face down. The dealing of the cards is the same as in Texas Hold’em. The player to the left of the dealer posts the small blind and the player left of him posts the big blind. When all the players have received their cards the first player left of the big blind starts bidding, just as in Texas Holdem. Five Card Draw is almost exclusively played as pot-limit
The Draw
When the first betting round is over each player that remains in the pot, starting with the first remaining player left of the dealer, discards 0-5 cards. After all the players has discarded each player receive the same number of cards that they discarded, i. e. if a player discards 4 cards he receives 4 cards. A player gets all his cards before the dealer moves on to the next player.
Last betting round and showdown
When all players have their cards another betting round takes place. Starting again with the player left of the dealer. When the bidding is over the last player who bet, or raised, shows his cards first. The hand ranking is the same as in Texas Hold’em with a Royal Straight Flush being the highest hand and a high card being the lowest.
