Boy have I become the laughing stock amongst my mates after my last post…

That’s the last time I bare my sole and reveal any personal information!

I’ve been getting all sorts of rude comments…  Dave phones me up and says in a suggestive voice, “Hi darling are you in the mood for some poker tonight?”

I won’t write my reply…

But I’ll tell you what mood I am in, and thats a betting mood, oh yeah, its the weekend and I am going to do some good betting.  Just what I need… some football betting tips on all the matches this weekend!  And whats more is these online bookmakers are offering free bets.

Oh yeah going to win me some money!  Then we’ll see whose laughing… ha!

Fancy a bit of roulette darling?

My relationship needs a bit of something to liven it up a bit…

Ok so maybe I am letting out a bit too much personal information… but I need to get this off my chest… please indulge me… or at least allow me to indulge myself…

You know what its like, life just seems to go on by and if you don’t make that extra effort, then things can get a bit stale and boring on the home front…

So I have decided to awaken the romantic in me… and get creative.  Sounds dodgy!!  Sorry, I’ll keep it clean.

I thought a bit about what my wife would enjoy… she likes to be spoilt, to go out somewhere really extravagant and smart… she likes the attention… to dress up and get the looks… ok that’s enough…

And I enjoy the casino.  So… I thought I would put the two together and we could dress up, black tie, dinner dress etc.  Include a nice meal with some top wine.  It needs a theme, I have some distant Italian blood in me so thought with the whole romantic thing I would go Italian.  Italian food, Italian wine.

Then I figured lets play something different for a change.  Fancy a bit of roulette darling?

She doesn’t know much about roulette, so I found roulette online with some Italian flare… so that she can learn the basics… it doesn’t really matter too much, because we are just going to have some fun… blow some money….

Yeah right… better check the state of my credit card!  Its only just recovered from Christmas… Oh well!

Think Before You Talk

Do you think before you talk, or talk before you think?

Someone was complementing another person the other day and I heard them say, “The great thing about Ian is that he is one of the few people who thinks before he talks”.  I think that is a wonderful thing to say about somebody and also a great quality for a person to have.

So many people blabber away, in fact the more they talk, the  more suspicious I get … then I start wondering if they really know anything about what they are talking about…

When it comes to poker rules, there is always someone at the poker table that seems to know it all, someone who talks before they think…

Most people know texas holdem poker rules, but when it gets to some of the other kinds of poker, then they start to get fuzzy about some of the detail.  If you are going to play one of the lesser known forms of poker then it is best to revise the poker rules so that no-one can tell you they know better.

Next time you head down to the casino or log onto your favorite online casino make sure you know the poker rules, in fact all the casino game rules…

A reputable internet gambling site will provide you with up to date casino game rules.  But it doesn’t take long to figure out how the game works… its figuring out how to win that takes longer!  Developing a winning strategy will take a while, but once you have it – your bankroll will grow.

To get your bankroll to grow even quicker, you have to take advantage of the best gambling offers and use them to boost your deposit.  That way you can play your casino games for longer and have a better chance of winning.

Another casino tip is to know everything about progressive payouts, as this can help online gamblers profit from their winnings and win the big prize!  Learn all the casino tips, know your stuff and think before you talk!

Raising capital the hard way!

I met a young guy called James the other night in the casino.  James put himself through university by playing blackjack and he is now starting up an online business – guess where the start up capital is coming from???  Yes, you guessed right, online gambling.

Now I would not recommend this to everyone.  If you believe James then he is one of the very few that is either very lucky or very talented…. most likely the former.

He says that what is important is to bank your winnings and to quit whilst the going is good.  So lets say he needed $3,000 to survive the month i.e to pay his rent, travel, food etc.  Once he had won $3,000 he would put it in the bank and leave it.  That way he was sure to have enough to pay his bills at the end of the month.

The lesson here is – Only gamble with what you can afford to lose.

Now he uses an online casino to raise his capital rather than going to the bank and taking a loan.  Today it is very difficult to squeeze any sort of capital out of a bank, so well done to James and good luck to him!

Another clue from James was not to get greedy and take unnecessary risks.  Sometimes he couldn’t afford to lose his rent money, so he wouldn’t take the risk – this paid off in the end because he was more careful in protecting his bankroll.

It doesn’t matter whether you are playin online blackjack, slots or poker – what is important is to think before you bet, “is this worth it?”

Building a Poker Bankroll

My best poker advice to beginners, on how to build a poker bankroll is  – don’t throw it away!

What do you mean they always say?

I mean don’t just throw your chips into the pot and hope for the best… that is giving your bankroll away.

Yes, but how do I build a bankroll?  Not how do I lose a bankroll…

And again I say… don’t throw it away?

It always has them confused.  I don’t like to say more, I then just say go and figure it out for yourself.  When you are next playing poker, think about how many chips you are going to push in, with these cards.  What are my opponents doing?  And most importantly don’t throw your chip stack away.

You have to observe what is going on.  You have to know what your hand is capable of beating and what is the percentage chance that it will win – and then bet accordingly – simple really.

If you just throw your chips into the pot without thinking, then you will slowly lose your bankroll.  Sure you will win once in a while but mostly you will lose and watch your poker bankroll slowly decline.

Think before you reach for the chips!!!   And, don’t throw it away!!!!!!!!!

Harry and his bingo…

I got so carried away talking about Devon that I forgot to mention what Harry, one of the players at the poker table last night, had to say.  Harry has been surfin the internet and he had found some new online casino sites, he enjoyed their offers and thought internet casinos had some of the best bonuses around.

I always like to follow up on referrals from friends, if they think a place is good then it must be good.  Sometimes tastes differ and I don’t like certain things, but thats ok because everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Harry likes to play bingo and I can understand why he liked this site because they offer so much back to the player.

So we had Devon talking sport and Harry talking Bingo, neither of them listening to each other… and the rest of us were just trying to play poker and concentrate…

Damn it was hard!!   I eventually cashed in, said my apologies and came home for a nice early night and some peace and quiet!!!

Mad About Sport

Last night I played a bit of poker at one of my usual hangouts.  Devon was at the table playing his normal game.  Now one thing about Devon is that he never shuts up, not even when he has a difficult decision to make – in fact then he talks even more.

I think its nerves or something… I dunno but he just doesn’t know how to keep quiet.  Have you ever played poker with someone like this?

You get all kinds of characters playing poker in real life or even online poker.  It helps if a talker is playing online poker because then you don’t have to hear them all the time!!  Anyway I guess I had got used to playing online and having my music to listen to so that I could concentrate.  So now suddenly I found getting used to Devon’s running commentary took some getting used to.  And, he didn’t have a volume control so that you could turn down the sports commentary.

Devon is mad about sport and he fancies himself as a sports commentator… need I say any more???  He knows a lot about sport and what he doesn’t know he makes up… he knows all the sports scores and odds on the players and results.

He loves betting and thats why he comes down to play poker often – thankfully not too often!!!  Don’t get me wrong, I like Devon he is a great bloke, but I just wish he would shut up so that you could think.

Devon, I don’t care how many home runs so-and-so hit…. ok got it…. so will you shut up so that we can all hear ourselves think!

The Dentist!!!

I had my annual check up with the dentist yesterday and am still suffering the after effects!!!!

I’m sure he is doing good, I can reason with what he has to do, to maintain my teeth so that I can munch on my favorite food…. but does it have to hurt so much???????????

So I’m lying there in the chair all prone… staring at the ceiling, with my mouth open, saliva dribbling out of the corner of my mouth ….. you know the story.

Then he starts hmmmmming and ahaaaaaing, and you sitting there going oh sh…….. maybe I should have flossed more…….. you know the rules, you know what you should do, you know the consequences ….. but we still get lazy and take the short cut in life……. just a quick brush should do it……

Then he says to me ok I am going to ‘infiltrate you’ ok………… steady on big fella……….  I start to look for the nearest exit… I have always gone to the same dentist, he is a great guy, I didnt know he had become that way……..

So I look at him and stammer, “wwwwwhat?”.

He has a syringe in his hand and a sadistic dentist smile on his face…. I am going to inject you with local anasthetic so you don’t feel the pain.  I cant say inject because people get scared…. so I now say infiltrate….

Well when he said that I word it was more scary than just hearing ‘inject’!!!

Please don’t say ‘infiltrate’ again ok.

After the ordeal I managed to leave with my dignity intact, but my mouth did not feel intact… I could not feel my lower lip and I knew I was drooling but could do nothing about it.  I slurred a goodbye and made a rapid departure through the waiting room, where of course everyone was staring at me….

Oh why does a visit to the dentist have to be so humiliating?

Its back to the poker room with a clean, bright, white set of teeth – as if they care…… my online poker buddies couldn’t care if I was sitting in my birthday suit and hadn’t brushed my teeth for a week… thats why I call them buddies and like them so much…
